Name: "Winter Abstract"

Captured: December 11, 2005

Biography: After a winter storm, which seem to be few and far between these days were I live, I was eager to get out with my camera and see what I could see. Not long after getting to Black Hawk Park I was shooting near the waters edge when I spied this almost barren tree branch. The river was frozen near the bank and was covered with new fallen snow and I realized how black this branch looked against the snow. Leaning way out to get over the top of this branch to set it against the white snow it looked really good and I composed a few shots. This time of year Old Man Winter can leave us with many nasty surprises, but on this day he just left a pleasant "Winter Abstract".
